| Dr. Schuman was born and raised in New York
and did his dental training New York University. He completed his residency
training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the Bellevue Hospital
program in New York City. He moved to California in 1983 where he met
his wife Linda. Their two children, Rachel and David are 19 and 14 respectively.
Dr. Schuman has been at his current location for nineteen years. Although oral and maxillofacial surgery and implantology have always been exciting for Dr. Schuman, during the last several years he has been placing a special emphasis on cosmetic, functional and improved overall medical health of his patients. He has extensive continuing education in CO2 laser therapy, utilizing it in two exciting areas: the treatment of snoring and the treatment of damaged skin, caused essentially by sun and wind, and the effects of aging on the skin evidenced by wrinkles. Snoring, considered by many as socially intrussive and embarrassing, is often a symptom of the more incidious, and sometimes called Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Occasionally, the milder forms may be controlled by modifications in lifestyle and/or diet. The laser represents an advanced, yet less invasive way to remedy a serious social and often dangerous physiological and medical condition. |
Cosmetic skin resurfacing is used to remove damaged skin, wrinkles,
facial blemishes, discolorations and skin tags. It rejuvenates and tightens the skin,
eliminating fine wrinkles and looseness. In the process, the skin takes on a more
youthful appearance. We always welcome new patients at our practice! In fact, over 80% of our new patients are referred by our current patients and colleagues for care. We have always attempted to provide a personal touch with state-of-the-art care for our patients. Our patients are always encouraged to ask questions and make sure they have had the various options for treatment explaned thoroughly prior to beginning any treatment. Dr. Schuman is a Fellow in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Fellow American Assoc. of OMS, Cal. Society of OMS, a member of the American Dental Association, The California Dental Association, The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Western Society of OMS, as well as a member of the Mid-Penninsula Dental Society. He is also on staff at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View as well as local surgi-centers.
